Big-Screen Ronald Reagan Biopic in the Works
Ronald Reagan's life will get the big-screen biopic treatment with a $30 million production, 'Reagan,' set for release late next year. Based on the best-selling biographies written by Paul Kengor, The Crusader and God and Ronald Reagan, the film will open with the 1981 attempted assassination of the 40th U.S. president's life, then chronicle his boyhood, Hollywood career and years in the Oval Office in flashbacks and flash-forwards, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The film's producers, which includes 'X-Men' and 'Fantastic Four' movie producer Ralph Winter, say that the project will be very different from the controversial 2003 miniseries starring James Brolin, "The Reagans."
